It really wasn’t too bad, I think the worst part was getting that plastic off from it. Now prepping the area for it was work. Clearing out the gravel, hardware cloth, cardboard, old wood from the firewood pile that is getting old, leaves, topsoil, mushroom compost, worm compost and castings.

I also got around to getting rid of the down spout for the gutters for the garage and hung up the new rain chain. Of course, that was after I figure out where the water was leaking out of the rain barrel and fixing it. I also put the rain chains back up on the other three. I’m operating under the impression that we are not going to get any prolonged or super cold temps. I took them down as I didn’t want large amounts of ice hanging off the canales over the winter. Since spring is just weeks away it should be safe.

After looking at the weather forecast for the rest of the week, I might have been off on my idea about no more significant cold or snow between now and the end of April. No matter, I still love the look of the rain chains with the barrels.

I was motivated this weekend because my new meyer lemon/limequot bush showed up. I’m so excited about the idea of having my own limes and lemons!!!!

On a whim while at Tractor Supply for some stakes, I picked up a blueberry bush too! It’s a bit on the sad side right now but it should do well once it warms up some more.

I also found seed potatos, onion sets, peony, and some bare root strawberries. Those all needed to get planted too. So I was really busy on Sat … not a bad Valentines day in my opinion.

I’m really liking the new location of the potting bench, it’s much more convinent then were it was. Good thing too, since it won’t be going back to its original location now that the new raised bed is in that spot.

Since I was on a roll, I potted up a bunch of the seedling that I had that were getting too big for the 6 cells they were in.
