Talk about being busy. I had originally planned on being off on Friday so I could make the drive to Monticello, UT a nice leisurely one. Not the case, we were having our CAP inspection on Friday, since I’m responsible for a lot of QC/QA for our dept. I had to be there, but as soon as the inspectors decided they were done and going to do their write up. I took off.

I had prepped as much as I could during the week. So I really only had to hook up the truck and load up my computer, my bike, and the dog. I was supposed to stop in Farmington along the way to get the wrap on the KTM that Brian and CJ had gotten for me. (Speedin Motorsports and Law Tigers, respectively.) I didn’t make it to Farmington until 7:30 pm and I still had a few hours to drive to the Enduro, so I didn’t stop, besides, they had closed hours ago I didn’t think it was fair to ask them to wait on me. If Brian had been in town, I’d have swung by his house to grab the stickers.

I finally made it to Bull Hollow Raceway about 10:45, talk about a long day. Geneva had a spot saved for me so I just had to get the trailer level. That was a bit interesting, I really need to remember to choke the wheels better when on a slope.

The next day I’m not sure why but Geneva decided we had to be up early. I tried to sleep in some, but then Glen showed up. No more trying to sleep. Sable decided it was time to go see everyone. I checked in with a few people, went to registration to get my transponder and stickers for the weekend. It was good to see a number of people for the first time in a while. It’ll be really nice once things are fully opened up again.

We did our practice lap in the afternoon, it was downright HOT. I really liked the loop. I was a bit worried about the dehydration that I’d had the weekend before, but I didn’t have any issues. Yea! I did have a couple of small tip overs, again like usual, because I can’t touch the ground when I really need to. I had trouble on the second one as the wheels were uphill from the rest of the bike. I’m still not back to full strength yet, even with trying to drag it around I couldn’t get it picked up without help. It took help awhile to show up too. I wasn’t worried about that section for the next day as I knew I’d be able to keep up the speed I needed.

After that we all hung out in the pits, doing the usual BS, just trying to stay cool. So you could say we just had a bunch of fun. At least, we got to sleep earlier that night, since we had to be up for the rider’s meeting at 8:30, with a start at 9am. At least, that meant cooler temps for the race.

I didn’t count, but there seemed like a fair number of women on the line again. I know there was more than the 11 that finished the race. I finished 9th, I only did one lap, as my knee was just too tired. I was struggling with going between sitting and standing. So I figured I’d rather finish on a high. I could have gone back out for a second lap since there was just over 20 min left on the timer when I came through the timing chute.

I was back before everyone else, so I had time to relax, change and get things ready to go for the trip home. I packed slowly, since I wanted to hang out until Glen and Michelle made it back in from their rides. I know that Glen feels like he really should have been out there with the rest of us.

Michelle is just amazing;
