Sunday was the monthly Tiger Troop Ride.\u00a0 This was a dual sport month, so I was looking forward to riding some unknown dirt roads.\u00a0 The loop was to start with a meet up at the Range Caf\u00e9 for breakfast.\u00a0 You know riders, there is always food on the docket especially group rides like this one.<\/p>\n

Once everyone was present, we headed up to 550, to San Ysidro, to 126 past Fenton Lake, over to Cuba.\u00a0 Traffic made it a longer trip than it needed to be.\u00a0 I still love the scenery in the Jemez, after all this time.\u00a0 I hadn\u2019t been on the whole 126 for years, like close to 20 years. Dang.\u00a0 I\u2019m getting old.\u00a0 What can I say NM does deliverer with the views.<\/p>\n

Once we hit Cuba, it was on to more food at the El Bruno’s Restaurante y Cantina.\u00a0 We weren\u2019t in a hurry and it\u2019s a good thing.\u00a0 It took over an hour for the food to show up once we got around to ordering.\u00a0 It was great food though.<\/p>\n

After that it was another scenic tour down 197 to Torreon, to San Luis on 279.\u00a0 That took us back to 550 just north of San Ysidro.\u00a0 Once back to the Y there, I split off from the group I wasn\u2019t quite ready to head back to Santa Fe.\u00a0 So I headed to the Ponderosa off 290, from there the road turns into forest road 10.\u00a0 I rode that back to hwy 4 up near the Valle Grande.\u00a0 The road was in great shape.\u00a0 I was thinking it would be a great ride for the November Tiger Troop ride which is to be a dual sport ride.\u00a0 I\u2019d love to ride 144 again, I don\u2019t think it would make for a fun ride for some of the group. \u00a0That\u2019s just way too many miles and has a couple of sections that are complicated. \u00a0I struggled with it last summer.\u00a0 So it puts it out of the group ride routes.<\/p>\n

After that I was finally ready to hit the road toward home.\u00a0 What a shame that I had to ride the rest of hwy 4 to Los Alamos.\u00a0 I had a great full day of riding with some great sights.<\/p>\n
