{"id":2358,"date":"2018-06-18T14:14:38","date_gmt":"2018-06-18T14:14:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/?p=2358"},"modified":"2018-06-21T15:11:34","modified_gmt":"2018-06-21T15:11:34","slug":"visitors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/2018\/06\/18\/visitors\/","title":{"rendered":"Visitors!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now this was one that I was excited about, for two reasons.\u00a0 One, it was the first West 38 Moto class since last year for me.\u00a0 Second, I had one of my most favorite persons finally coming over to visit me in NM!!!!\u00a0 TMC aka Mike he was also bringing Kristy with him, which is a huge bonus in my book.<\/p>\n<p>Mike and Kristy arrived on Friday early evening, so that gave us time to hit a mexican food joint.\u00a0 \u00a0My one hard fast rule is that I won&#8217;t eat mexican when I&#8217;m traveling.\u00a0 So after years, of my visiting with Mike and saying I don&#8217;t care where we eat as long as it isn&#8217;t mexican.\u00a0 We he finally got to eat mexican food with me.\u00a0 lol.\u00a0 \u00a0We hit Maria&#8217;s one of my favorite new mexican food spots.\u00a0 I talked Jim into joining us.\u00a0 I knew that Kristy wanted to see some of Santa Fe, but by the time we wrapped up dinner it was too late to do much.\u00a0 \u00a0Mike was beat, from driving that beast of a van all day.\u00a0 So we headed back to the house.\u00a0 Besides, they had class in the morning.\u00a0 So did I but I wasn&#8217;t going to be working that hard.\u00a0 \u00a0I got to just stand around.\u00a0 lol.\u00a0 I wish it was that easy sometimes.<\/p>\n<p>In the morning we had to get moving a bit earlier.\u00a0 They needed gas for the bikes in the van and I needed to show them the way there.\u00a0 Takes some of the fun out of the ride, waiting for a cage, but I got over it.<\/p>\n<p>Once at the mine gate, when everyone was present we headed up to the main building.\u00a0 \u00a0The first day is basics just like most training classes.\u00a0 Since Mike and Kristy were on cheater bikes.\u00a0 Small dirt bikes and not adventure bikes, we came up with other things for them to work on in addition to what everyone else was doing.\u00a0 \u00a0I don&#8217;t think we tortured Mike nearly enough.<\/p>\n<p>The days went super smooth.\u00a0 That should have let me know that the next day wasn&#8217;t going to as nice&#8230;\u00a0 You know that&#8217;s how these things work.\u00a0 I was on my way back to the house, those two were going to stop off at Walmart for a few items.\u00a0 On my way, I passed a dude walking next to his pedal bike.\u00a0 I realized as I passed that I knew him.\u00a0 It was Luis.\u00a0 I did a u turn and went back to find out why he was walking.\u00a0 Turns out he had a flat tire.\u00a0 He was going to walk it back to his car about 8 miles up the road.\u00a0 Being the great friend that I am.
