Now this was one that I was excited about, for two reasons.\u00a0 One, it was the first West 38 Moto class since last year for me.\u00a0 Second, I had one of my most favorite persons finally coming over to visit me in NM!!!!\u00a0 TMC aka Mike he was also bringing Kristy with him, which is a huge bonus in my book.<\/p>\n

Mike and Kristy arrived on Friday early evening, so that gave us time to hit a mexican food joint.\u00a0 \u00a0My one hard fast rule is that I won’t eat mexican when I’m traveling.\u00a0 So after years, of my visiting with Mike and saying I don’t care where we eat as long as it isn’t mexican.\u00a0 We he finally got to eat mexican food with me.\u00a0 lol.\u00a0 \u00a0We hit Maria’s one of my favorite new mexican food spots.\u00a0 I talked Jim into joining us.\u00a0 I knew that Kristy wanted to see some of Santa Fe, but by the time we wrapped up dinner it was too late to do much.\u00a0 \u00a0Mike was beat, from driving that beast of a van all day.\u00a0 So we headed back to the house.\u00a0 Besides, they had class in the morning.\u00a0 So did I but I wasn’t going to be working that hard.\u00a0 \u00a0I got to just stand around.\u00a0 lol.\u00a0 I wish it was that easy sometimes.<\/p>\n

In the morning we had to get moving a bit earlier.\u00a0 They needed gas for the bikes in the van and I needed to show them the way there.\u00a0 Takes some of the fun out of the ride, waiting for a cage, but I got over it.<\/p>\n

Once at the mine gate, when everyone was present we headed up to the main building.\u00a0 \u00a0The first day is basics just like most training classes.\u00a0 Since Mike and Kristy were on cheater bikes.\u00a0 Small dirt bikes and not adventure bikes, we came up with other things for them to work on in addition to what everyone else was doing.\u00a0 \u00a0I don’t think we tortured Mike nearly enough.<\/p>\n

The days went super smooth.\u00a0 That should have let me know that the next day wasn’t going to as nice…\u00a0 You know that’s how these things work.\u00a0 I was on my way back to the house, those two were going to stop off at Walmart for a few items.\u00a0 On my way, I passed a dude walking next to his pedal bike.\u00a0 I realized as I passed that I knew him.\u00a0 It was Luis.\u00a0 I did a u turn and went back to find out why he was walking.\u00a0 Turns out he had a flat tire.\u00a0 He was going to walk it back to his car about 8 miles up the road.\u00a0 Being the great friend that I am. I tried to Mike to see if they could give him a ride in the van.\u00a0 Then I thought about putting my Mosko bags to the test….\u00a0 We undid the bag on the right side, put the bike in the bag and refastened.\u00a0 Luis hopped in the passenger seat.\u00a0 He held onto the bike, to keep it from moving.\u00a0 I rode with the bike and him to his car.\u00a0 It worked like a charm.\u00a0 Right turns were a bit tricky with the bike keeping me from using much lean angle.<\/p>\n

After that he joined us for dinner at the house.\u00a0 Mike and Kristy crashed early, even though Kristy wanted to exploring.\u00a0 Mike was tired so he fed her a large amount of wine with dinner so she would go to sleep instead… at times, he’s a bit sneaky like that.<\/p>\n

The training on the second day was a bit more interesting.\u00a0 Had a student who caught his leg on the foot peg of the bike when dropped the bike.\u00a0 Matt and I had to take him and his bike down to Cedar Crest.\u00a0 So I missed some of the afternoon training.\u00a0 I did get there for hill recovery.\u00a0 One of the fun ones.<\/p>\n

After class was over Mike, Kristy and I went exploring in Madrid.\u00a0 After that we went for pizza down on the plaza.\u00a0 The sunsets here never disappoint.<\/p>\n
