Miller Motorsports Group announce earlier in the year that as of Oct 31st, they were no longer going to operate the MMP. \u00a0I was heartbroken by this news and was worried that we would be losing the world class facility to a housing development. \u00a0 \u00a0(Spoiler: \u00a0we aren’t losing it; Tooele County has sold it to a group that can’t wait to bring more racing to it!)<\/p>\n

I talked Jaime and Lance into heading up to SLC to race there, just in case it closed.\u00a0 I really didn\u2019t have to talk too much, Jaime was all over the idea and she convinced Lance to go.\u00a0 We used my truck and old trailer to haul the 3 bikes to TMC\u2019s house in SLC.\u00a0 We all crashed there for the next days.<\/p>\n
Friday was getting everyone familiar with the track, me included.\u00a0 I\u2019ve only ridden the west track a handful of times, so I had to relearn my way around.\u00a0 Racing a track is very different from doing track days or schools on a course.\u00a0 I found myself struggling, there just like I was at home.\u00a0 I was stuck in a rut and I couldn\u2019t see how to break free of it.\u00a0 I had talked with Scott about it before we left for the trip.\u00a0 He agreed to follow me around and see if there was something he could see that would help.\u00a0 It really came down to me rushing my entrances on the slower corners and tipping in too fast on the quick corners.\u00a0 Once he pointed it out ..I totally understood what I was doing; I set about working to fix it.\u00a0 Right away, I had a huge drop in lap times, which is what I really wanted.<\/p>\n
One of the things I love about Miller is the high quality photogs they have there.\u00a0 Steve took some shots of my there that I\u2019ve had enlarged and framed for my wall.\u00a0 He also had one blown up and gave it to me.\u00a0 It\u2019s one of my favor shots; it has me, Mike and Lance all in a row.\u00a0 (I\u2019m in front, of course).<\/p>\n
Racing with those two was the highlight of the weekend.\u00a0 I have a BLAST in the Time Attach class, it\u2019s run to a set time, that no one knows but the tower.\u00a0 The first one across the s\/f line at the checker wins.\u00a0 It\u2019s not the fastest who wins, it could be the slowest, you just need to be at the front of the group you are racing with.<\/p>\n![\"cropped-P3A8598.jpg\"](\"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cropped-P3A8598.jpg\")
