{"id":1585,"date":"2015-08-25T03:11:35","date_gmt":"2015-08-25T03:11:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/?p=1585"},"modified":"2015-11-06T20:29:37","modified_gmt":"2015-11-06T20:29:37","slug":"august-track-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/2015\/08\/25\/august-track-day\/","title":{"rendered":"August Track Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now the best part of this track day was heading to the track a day early to make the trailer swap from my lil&#8217; cargo trailer to the new (to me) toy hauler!!!! \u00a0Also this was the start of a few really busy weeks.<\/p>\n<p>I met Scott and Stuart over at Scott&#8217;s I was leery of putting the brake control for the new trailer in by myself. He offered to help me with it, since\u00a0 I wasn&#8217;t allowed to work on things much growing up. Than once I got married I never could complete things to the standard my ex wanted them&#8230; so I was banned from working on things. \u00a0It helps me to see them first and try it after. \u00a0It took both of them so I&#8217;m glad that I didn&#8217;t try it alone at home. \u00a0It wasn&#8217;t too bad, but it wasn&#8217;t straight forward either.<\/p>\n<p>That done, I headed off to see what shape Ken had left the trailer in. \u00a0Earlier in the season he mentioned that he was thinking about upgrading. \u00a0I jumped all over that&#8230; \u00a0The trailer he had was just perfect for me. \u00a0So I convinced him to sell me the current one once he found a new one that he wanted.\u00a0 That way he could take his time moving things from one to the other.\u00a0 I can\u2019t say enough nice things about Ken and how much he helped me get to know this trailer.\u00a0 My parents had a camper when I was a kid, but we never had anything like this. \u00a0\u00a0Way too many really nice features and fancy things, it was nicely set up for hauling two bikes.\u00a0 I just needed to clean it up, let\u2019s just say I know that very few people out there are capable of cleaning to my standards.\u00a0 It comes from working in the Microbiology dept for to many years.\u00a0\u00a0 I went ahead and did a quick clean job on the trailer, moved all my stuff over to it from the cargo trailer.\u00a0 That basically took the whole day.\u00a0 Jaime came down to take possession of her new trailer.. my cargo trailer.\u00a0 J\u00a0 We than spent some time doing drills on the track so she would be ready for the next big adventure I had conned her into.<\/p>\n<p>After that I kicked back to see how it was going to be not sleeping in the cargo trailer.\u00a0 I have no idea why I waited so long.\u00a0 Wow, it\u2019s nice to have AC, a shower, a TV and fridge!\u00a0 I was really ready to work with student for the track day on Sunday.\u00a0\u00a0 I had 4 new racers as well as the street school to take care of.\u00a0 It was a lot of work, everyone tried hard and did really well.<\/p>\n<p>It was nice to see so many people in the street school.\u00a0 The word was finally getting out about the training and new program.\u00a0 The thing I really need to work on for next year is having instructors who are more with the program the way it is now and not how it used to be.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Now the best part of this track day was heading to the track a day early to make the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,13],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1585","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-not-racing","category-track-days"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1585","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1585"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1585\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1589,"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1585\/revisions\/1589"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1585"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1585"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/diomederacing.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1585"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
