The club finally got around to having its banquet for the 2013 Season. \u00a0It was nice to see some of the old faces again, but there were a number of new ones there. \u00a0I think it was one of the quickest banquets I\u2019ve ever been to start to finish was only three hours.\u00a0 Some how though, I still didn\u2019t get to head up to my room to sleep until almost 2am, go figure. \u00a0SMRI is a small club; I\u2019ve been racing with them since August 2007.<\/p>\n
I volunteered as Secretary and Contingency director for the past 4 years.\u00a0 I\u2019d have to say that many of the racers are like family, in a kind of sad twisted way. \u00a0LOL. \ud83d\ude00 \u00a0\u00a0I really enjoyed the Secretary position; it allowed me to help a lot of racers and get to know them all so much better then if I had just been a racer. \u00a0I was able to watch the progress of a number of them from new novice to them taking home a top 10 number plate.\u00a0 I am looking forward to seeing how far they go. \u00a0For the up coming season I\u2019ll just be handling the contingency. I think it\u2019s going to be great to be able to just enjoy being at the track.<\/p>\n
2013 was a good season for me, but really how could it not be. \u00a0I got to spend my free time at a race track!<\/p>\n
