A bit early for the end of month, but… there was a lot already.

I was able to finally finish getting the drip set up for the garage side garden.  I was really over thinking about how to run the lines to each of the pots.  I’m almost convinced that the drip is the reason, everything looks so good right now. There are few that I need to look at balancing a bit different.

I do need to take a look how I’ve got the soaker hose done in the flower bed.  I think that is next year’s problem.  There isn’t really isn’t any way to redo it now with everything growing there.

I keep hoping that the plum tree will come back so I don’t have to deal with that next year.  It’s really not happy.

On a happier note: I picked up a new bird bath to add to the other side of the yard.  It’s quite  cute.  The solar fountain isn’t as good the other ones I have in the other baths.

I was a bit frustrated at the end of June thinking that things just weren’t growing.  From July 1st.  I mean really look at that loofa plant on the far right.  It’s only about 8 inches tall.

This is what it looked like on the 27th!  I was worried that it wasn’t going to survive, let alone produce any gourds.  Now I have found 9 different sprouts for the gourds on it.

Then there are these Melon plants, kind of sad looking on July first.

Now here we are at the end of the month…  I can’t believe how much they’ve grown in the past 4 weeks.  There are flower all over the 5 of them.  The one in the flower bed is about 8 feet long with multiple branches on it.  I’ll be really disappointed if I don’t get at least one melon off of those.

Let’s not forget the difference in the sunflowers..

Now…

Or how about the corn bed with the green beans and squash.

Now…   They all have tassels and there are signs of ear forming on about half of them right now.

All of the stuff at the house is doing fantastic!!

I did have to pull out a number of tomato plants down at the community garden,  they had just turned yellow and stop growing.  All the ones around the house on the other hand have taken off. I’ve gotten some cherry tomatoes that were awesome, low acid and sweet.  Can’t wait to see how the others come out.

I got my first cucumber, there is other one that is ready to pick too.

There were also 2 smaller eggplants that I picked on the 24th.

I had 4 more eggplants that I put down at the community garden.  The marbled ones, we’ll see how they do over the next month.  Looks like the pepper plants are going to give me a number of peppers over the next few weeks too.

I’ve had a lot of lil visitors this month too…

Family of skunks, there are three of them in that shot.

There was a raccoon, in the yard again, same night I took this video of the skunks.

There are a few cats that have discovered that I have bird feeders up.  Sable is doing an okay job of chasing them off.  I’m okay with them hanging around the toy hauler, since they’ll take care of any mice that might want to think about living there full time.    It’s a bit of a surprise to me that I’ve only had mice in the house 1 time, at least that I know about.  I’d like to keep it that way too.
