Two of the kids on their phones, instead of riding.

Recap of the year, since I don’t really have the time to write up each event.  I finished the year up in 2nd place for the Novice level with the NMTA this year.  I also managed to finish on the podium for every event.  I did not manage to get a single 1st place finish this year.  Or ever in Trials, for that matter.  I have won a few other events over the years; I’m just a bit steamed at myself for not winning a single time this year.  I do like the belief that there is no such thing as sandbagging if you are over the age of 60, but a few of the people I’ve had to compete with have much better skills than I do.  I really do need to work on my turns for 2026!  Maybe just ride more and practice period?  That might be a great start!

Scoring with Mal in Glorietta

I did compete in my first Women and Youth National event this year.  I even podiumed on one of the three days, was fourth the other two days, so not too shabby.  It was a lot of fun.  I think I’ll even try to do one again next year in Flagstaff.  Given my state of mind that weekend I was surprised to do so well.  More on that in a different post.

More scoring fun in Sipapu

I missed two events this year and didn’t finish one of them… That meant no Ironman award, but I did set the December event.  It went off really well.  I was really pleased with the rides I saw.  I had a great time, I couldn’t have done it without a lot of help from Curtis.  I took it on because I missed out on the October one I was supposed to set.  Also, more on that in a different post.  It wasn’t for a fun reason.  I felt bad leaving to Mal and others at the last minute.

New awning on the trailer for the April NMTA event in Northern NM.

Unfortunately, there I won’t be able to attend the Hair of the Dog in Roswell.  I have another commitment, and I had planned it to be on a different weekend.  Oh well.

I will be focusing on my skills for 2026 I want to move up to Amateur, but to do that I have to have control over my wheelies.  This would help my dirt biking too.  I really would like to spend a lot more time on the bikes in general next year!  I didn’t’ get nearly enough seat time in.
