I don’t consider my self to be an artist in any way, shape, or form. I do however find the acrylic paint pours to be just amazing. It actually looked like something I might be able to do. Not sayin’ that it doesn’t take talent. It absolutely does, I just love the look of them. It lets me play in a creative way, that I’ve never done before.

It all started with videos showing up on my social media feeds. I loved the look!!! I in my usual fashion googled it, read up on it, watch videos, read blogs, and considered a class, but decided against that since I didn’t want to have anyone tell me to not do it however the mood struck me.

I was in a hobby shop looking for some rocks for a bee waterer. I couldn’t help myself, I walked through the painting supplies. I saw an acrylic pour intro kit. OMG! Best part. It was on sale for a serious discount!!! Score!!! So I bought it, bought some canvas, and my rocks.

It only took me another week before I got around to trying it out. I did four attempts outside. Just to see if it was something I could get into.

Here is my first attempt:

Not quite what I was envisioning when I started but it’s still kind of cool.

My second one:

I did two more with that kit. It was a great deal of fun and it was relaxing. Something that I need more of in my life. It was safe to say I was hooked. It was a few more months before I ordered more paints, canvas, and supplies to take another crack at it.

I’ve tried a few more techniques since than. Below are a few of my Favorites so far.
