I managed to get Mark and Curtis back out to ride some single track. I also got CJ to join us.
We met at the solar panels, CJ was running late. So the rest of us did a couple loops before going back to meet up with him. There were two others out there, I hadn’t ridden with them in a few years. We all headed off once CJ was ready. Riding the usual loop out toward old buckman road. Before we got to the one spot that I often struggle with, I talked the other four into splitting off from David and his buddy. They were riding much faster then the rest of us. I really wasn’t up to trying to keep up.
We rode some different tracks this time that took us to the river. It’s been many years since I’ve seen that much water in the Rio Grande
I learned a lesson that day… Never make smartazz comments about anyone’s maintenance of their bikes. I had my rad guard and radiator come loose. I had to secure it with a bunch of zip ties. It held up great for the rest of the ride, but I did try to take it easy and not fall over. That of course back fired on me. I fell over about 4x after that. One of them was an endo going down a hill. I managed to avoid injury which was nice since I already had messed up my knee just two weeks ago. It was still pretty sore, but the braces did a great job of protecting it.
I stole a few of Curtis pictures….
