I thought we were all crazy for showing up for this one… I wasn’t the only one. The rider turn out was so low that we did group scoring for the day. Everyone went out at once, we were divided into groups.
I was paired up with Signa and John? I think was his name…
I not sure why but between the 8 year old and the guy, I was voted to go first for all the sections. I wasn’t thrilled about it, but it doesn’t really matter to me which order I ride in. I just don’t like it when I fall over in front of everyone. I only really did that 2x this round. I just ended up with 3s on most of the sections. Overall, I was okay with how I rode, that was until I had to add up my score. Then not so much. Shocking how fast those 3s add up.
I did have a bit of bike drama. The bike wasn’t starting, I had to have help a few times. Then for some reason it started to puke gas everywhere and refused to start. Jess to the rescue, it is her old bike after all, she got it to start right up. After watching 4 other guys try to start it. With all the gas that had poured out, I figured I should go back to the pit to fill the tank. When there one of the TMs came over to ask why I was back. Told him what had happened, I figured that I was done for the day, since the gas was everywhere but in the tank. He started to look it over, and found the fuel line where it attached to the tank was almost all the way off, and there wasn’t a clamp on it. That riddle solved, I filled it up, headed back out to catch up with my group. Had to ride two sections before I caught them. In all not too bad of a day.
