DIRT BIKES!!!!!

My newest dirt bike is a 2022 Beta XTrainer, my first real 2 stroke dirt bike. At this point I’ve only ridden it a handful of times, but I’m loving it.

One of my current dirt bikes:  2018 KTM 450 EXC-F Six Days

With the addition of the Beta XTrainer, this one is going to end up being my lightweight adventure bike. I’ll make some changes to it so that it will be more suitable for longer adventures. Luckily I already have the oversized gas tank for it. I do like doing some single track with it, so it’s not just going to sit around.

Another dirt type bike…

2018 Beta 200 trials bike. It was really hard to find, but after my first event in 2021 with the NMTA, I was offered the Beta. The more I ride it the more I really like it. I still need to spend some time cleaning it up, putting the new stickers on it and maybe some new protection bits.

2016 Triumph Tiger XCA

The Tiger is my heavyweight off road bike. It does pretty good off road, just not in the sand. I do enjoy taking it out for long trips.

First Dirt Bike March 2013

It was a fun little TTR225 that I picked up from the MRA. It had been used as pit bike by the track marshalls. It had seen better days. It was hard to start, no matter how much I worked on it.

One of the first rides

My second dirt bike was 2004 KTM450, this bike was so tall that just about every time I stopped I’d fall over since I wasn’t able to touch the ground, and I hadn’t figured out how to slide off to one side when stopping. I don’t seem to have any pictures of it, in my files. I’ll have to look in the archives for one.

The next dirt type bike I picked up was a 2009 DRZ 400 since the other two bikes weren’t street legal and I really wanted to ride some of the passes in CO. I was convinced this was the best option for doing that. I was wrong…

I’m on the left side. The TW in the middle I ended up owning for a bit so that a friend of mine would have something to ride when she visited.

First Pass I ever rode in CO.  This was for the RMAR  Rendezvous at Silverton in July.  4 days of dual sport riding, with some good people and amazing sights. The 2009 DRZ was used for these rides. It also was the weekend I realized that the DRZ wasn’t the best choice for me.

Turns out that none of those bikes really fit for the the riding that I wanted to do. That left me with just one thing to do, buy yet another bike. I downsized from 3 bikes that really didn’t fit me (DRZ, TTR, KTM) to buy my first brand new dirt bike.

First new dirt bike.  (June 2014)  The day I brought it home.  Little did I know I’d only get to ride it 2 times, before I’d be sidelined for 8 months by injuries

Same bike when I sold it June 2019 so that I could get my current bike.
