Finally! We made it to the campground.

I was really happy, that the guy who’d beat me out of the cabin.  Offered me the other bed in the cabin.  It was really cold and really wet.  The heater in the room couldn’t keep up the the cold so it was really cold in the cabin.  I was really happy I wasn’t in a tent.  I also didn’t bring clothes that were warm enough.  I forget that humidity makes feel even colder.

My idea for how to unpack.
First bike down for the weekend!!! It wasn’t mine!

The campground was great.

One of the cabins in the background.
Chris chuckling at the attempt to build a fire in the rain.
Surprisingly, it worked for a bit.
Pre lunch stop.

petroglyphs, way up there… Yes, it’s hard to make out.
More over full rivers…
But! This one has blue rubber duckies in it.

Old tobacco drying barn, at least that is what I was told.

From here we rode up to a road the 209 The Rattler. It was so much better than the Dragon.  So was a number of the other roads, I got to ride.

We also got hit on the way back.

There was better luck with the fire this evening:

I know I stayed up way too late that night, and the fire might have been seen from space at one point.

More dirt the next day.
5 different states represented!
This property is for sale! I really loved the views!
ADV Salute!

Once we finally made it to our lunch stop at 2pm…

I and one of the other guys split off to go check out the wheels through time museum.  It was all American motorcycles.  With some America motors from boats, lawn mowers, and one of a kind bikes.   It was worth giving up 3 more hours of dirt riding, well, mostly.

one of the rarest motorcycles in the world. One of a kind.

Flat trackers!!!
Hill climbing

Again, that night was another bonfire.  I cut out a bit earlier this evening, as I had a LONG ride planed for the next two days.  Yes, I had only given myself two days to get home.   Can you say “Iron Butt Ride?”
