There was just so much going on. I was still getting things set up for the trailer, trying to figure out where I put everything, doing yet another new racer school at the end of the month along with the races a week after we got back. It felt like I had no time to stop. I didn’t either. I still had to take time to really CLEAN that new trailer. Poor Ken, he was feeling bad about not having cleaned it enough, but he’s a dude and as a rule they don’t thing to clean things like the walls or ceilings or to take upholstery cleaner to the things in the trailer. I did. It made a huge difference in how the trailer felt and smelled. The musty odor was gone and it was brighter inside.
I was still making small mistakes about how to set things up. Ken had to show me a few times how to set things up, he was also constantly helping me fix lil things on it. (And what I mean by helping was he was doing all for me.) I finally got a handle on all the details about the 3rd time I had to set it up and bring it down. I can’t believe that I waited that long to get one of these… what I had been thinking. Sleeping on a real bed instead of an air mattress is awesome. Not to mention it doesn’t go flat in the middle of the night.
Ken did a great job of getting it set up, it has mounts for two pit bull restraints. I’ve already got pins now for a few bikes and Pit Bull is working on pins for the husky and the TW. It’s great to have a TV; I’ve now got a Ruku for it so I can stream movies and TV shows to it when the HD antenna isn’t picking up anything good.
This trailer ticked off just about everything on my wish list for a toy hauler. It’s small 17 feet, a decent shower (that wasn’t over the toilet), drop down bed that was a decent size, sleeping on couches just isn’t comfortable, not to mention you HAVE to unload the bikes. It has a built in generator, even if it isn’t really large enough to run tire warmers, it also has a lot of storage and it has a dinette rather than two couches. I like the idea of an area to work on things at a table.
I’ve now taken it on two longer trips. I’m not thrilled with the gas mileage, but the niceties that come with this are worth it. Being able to head up to PMP and down to Arroyo were great, not to mention a hot shower in the am was awesome!!!
The link to more pictures. This isn’t my trailer, but mine is identical to this one. http://www.desertautoplex.com/web/vehicle_photos/849447/
