It’s been quite some time since my last post. This was mainly due to there not being anything good to post about. Since I had to take a fair amount of time to recover from the surgery on my right hand. Just about the time the cast came off and I was starting to think about getting back on the bike. I had another set back.
This time it was a ruptured disc in my neck between C6 and C7. This also required an extended amount of time off from riding and from work, as well as another surgery. Let me tell ya, two surgeries in a 3 month periods pretty much bites.
Thanks to the horses, I’ve had a number of serious injuries and I blame them for all the damage they say my spine has. However, I really wasn’t prepared for the amount of pain this caused, or for just how much it was going to impact day to day life. A month plus of not lifting anything over my head… come on.. I’m 5 foot 4 inches tall. Everything is over my head!
Now that I’m on the downhill side of recovery I’m starting to look forward to 2015. I really want to get back on a motorcycle. It’s already been 5.5 months, that is 5 months too long. Even with all the past injuries, I have never been so good at following the doctors orders as I have been with this one. I’ll tell ya, the thought of having someone muck around with my vertebra and spine, kind of freaked me out. That said, I’ll find out how things look on the x-rays on Monday the 15th. I can’t wait!!!
All I want for Christmas is to be able to ride my motorcycles.
