I started this BLOG as a way to promote/document my Roadracing. Before that I started working a MSF rider coach, not much before, only about 9 months. So this blog has the two completely intertwined. With the major changes that happened in 2020, you know, covid, a lock down, a total knee replacement, followed by some job changes, I was forced to do things differently with the training business.
I’m still training riders, just on a MUCH smaller scale. This has left me with not as much to post up on the blog around the topic of motorcycles. They are still my world!
I have just found a few other things that give me a great deal of purpose and joy. I actually get to spend more time riding and not only going out to help others learn how to ride. It is giving me back the pure joy I felt when I bought my first moto. I also get to spend my time learning new things, like art, gardening, home improvement, and some more new cooking techniques.
This is why there are now more Random topics showing up in my BLOG. I like to think I’m becoming more well rounded individual. I don’t mean physically, either. That is going in the other direction, as I have been working on getting fitter again. I miss the endurance/strength I had when I was racing or training horses.
This perspective change is also why there are hardly any posts for 2024. I spent the year floundering around looking for things. I still feel like that lockdown depression didn’t really hit me until it was coming to an end for most everyone else. That TKR I had at the end of 2020 left me not able to do as much as I had hoped for a couple of years. It wasn’t until 2024 that I finally stopped having knee pain that was related to the surgery.
I will also say that being a supervisor has given me a lot less freedom to run off and do things like I used to do. It’s a trade off, one that I’m coming to like more, but the first few years… not so much.
