Finally! I get to try my hand at another enduro race this year. Feb to Sept is too long between events. I need to clear some other things of my plate so I can ride more.
This is my favorite time of year in NM!
I love the black eyed Susans that show up around this time of year.
This race was in Monte Vista CO. It was a great site, the course was 7.2 miles. I did the sighting lap on Saturday. Given the terrain, difficulty, course length, and the rider count (267racers). I decided to not ride during the race. It just took me too long to finish the sighting lap, I didn’t want to be a rolling road block. The whole course was single track, with very few places to pass other riders. I’m just not a very fast rider, it was challenging but not outside of what I can ride. It just didn’t seem like it would be much fun for me. That is why I do these races, the challenge but mostly for fun.
After the races on Sunday, Michelle, I and “the boys next door” all headed to Red River to ride the some of the single track the RR folks have been clearing the the past few months. You can’t camp in town with an RV so Tom was kind enough to scout out a parking area for us up the road from him a bit.
We got camp set up and decided that a fire along with some drinking was in order.
I asked Madisen for one of the easier type of rides, since I wasn’t feeling 100% the next day…
