I hadn’t been down there is sometime, so I called up Carol to see if she was up for a visit. When I talked with her, I was going to come down for a few days, get a ride and a hike in. That didn’t work out for me either. Tuesday eve, as I was unloading the trailer from the Trials weekend. I dropped the Pitbull Trailer Restraint on my foot. I thought that I broke a bone, but no, I dislocated it.
So I shorten the trip to one night, since I hadn’t see Carol in months. I also go to see her new puppy. Which is just too cute.
We went to dinner in town, with the pups. They were super well behaved. I really love my dog.
After dinner it was a night of sitting around the fire pit and enjoying Cider.
The next day I headed out but things were still not in my favor. The check engine light came on in the truck. I scheduled an appt for Tuesday. Come to find out that it was a failure in the emissions air intake and it was a $3800 fix. I love my Tundra, outside of the usual wear and tear / maintenance this is the first time I’ve had to dump a lot of money into this truck.
I was panicked at this point, as I had another trip for the coming weekend planned. I had to get the toy hauler up to SLC so TMC could finish my solar install. This is a MAJOR thing for me, since we did a number of upgrades last spring but never got to the solar. So I was still having to run the genset to keep the batteries topped off.
Props!!!! To American Toyota for making sure that my truck was fixed in time for me to get to SLC. They overnighted the parts and got the work on the truck done. Once again, they’ve confirmed for me they are the best deal around.
