I finally got my bike back. It was down in Abq, getting it’s 24K service done. As it turns out, it became the first bike to be serviced by the new Triumph dealership. (lol. Which isn’t open yet, but Scott entered into the Triumph Service software.) I also won an award for having the most disgusting air filter he had ever seen. (I should have gotten a picture of it, but wasn’t thinking) I have to agree, it was the worst one I’ve ever seen. It looked like there had been mud piled on to it.
Triumph Albuquerque is shooting for an April 1st grand opening. They are coming down to the wire, from what Scott has told me it’s going to be a stretch to make that date. However, they are going to really push to make it happen. I’m so happy for Scott and Scott… aka Scott squared, I really wish them the best of luck.
Since I finally have the bike back in my possession, it was time to get somethings done for the trip. Like, wire in the mount for the Montana. I love having a fuze block on this bike. It makes adding things like this a breeze. I’ve been told by an experienced world traveler, that having two GPS units makes navigating unfamiliar areas easier. I’m going to be testing that out, since I left the TomTom mount on the bike.
I also mounted the new soft panniers on last night. I picked up the new Mosko Scout panniers. I’ll get pictures of those later, again I wasn’t thinking about pictures.
Note to self: TAKE MORE PICTURES!
I had the Reckless 80s before this. I liked them, but I had been hoping to use them on the Husky as well. They just were too big for that. So I figured since they weren’t ideal for what I had planned I’d go with a different system that wasn’t so much of a compromise. The plus side is these have more storage so I can carry more if I should need to. Since everything fit into the Reckless, it will fit better into this system.
I’ve still got a number of things to get checked off the list before I leave on Friday!! So that means more updates.
I borrowed a GoPro from Jaime so that I could take some video on the trip. I mean the whole point of getting the an Ipad was so I could do more video editing. It’s just not an easy thing to do with a PC, but I’m going to be working more on that.
I am really getting stoked for this trip.
