Now the best part of this track day was heading to the track a day early to make the trailer swap from my lil’ cargo trailer to the new (to me) toy hauler!!!!  Also this was the start of a few really busy weeks.

I met Scott and Stuart over at Scott’s I was leery of putting the brake control for the new trailer in by myself. He offered to help me with it, since  I wasn’t allowed to work on things much growing up. Than once I got married I never could complete things to the standard my ex wanted them… so I was banned from working on things.  It helps me to see them first and try it after.  It took both of them so I’m glad that I didn’t try it alone at home.  It wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t straight forward either.

That done, I headed off to see what shape Ken had left the trailer in.  Earlier in the season he mentioned that he was thinking about upgrading.  I jumped all over that…  The trailer he had was just perfect for me.  So I convinced him to sell me the current one once he found a new one that he wanted.  That way he could take his time moving things from one to the other.  I can’t say enough nice things about Ken and how much he helped me get to know this trailer.  My parents had a camper when I was a kid, but we never had anything like this.   Way too many really nice features and fancy things, it was nicely set up for hauling two bikes.  I just needed to clean it up, let’s just say I know that very few people out there are capable of cleaning to my standards.  It comes from working in the Microbiology dept for to many years.   I went ahead and did a quick clean job on the trailer, moved all my stuff over to it from the cargo trailer.  That basically took the whole day.  Jaime came down to take possession of her new trailer.. my cargo trailer.  J  We than spent some time doing drills on the track so she would be ready for the next big adventure I had conned her into.

After that I kicked back to see how it was going to be not sleeping in the cargo trailer.  I have no idea why I waited so long.  Wow, it’s nice to have AC, a shower, a TV and fridge!  I was really ready to work with student for the track day on Sunday.   I had 4 new racers as well as the street school to take care of.  It was a lot of work, everyone tried hard and did really well.

It was nice to see so many people in the street school.  The word was finally getting out about the training and new program.  The thing I really need to work on for next year is having instructors who are more with the program the way it is now and not how it used to be.
