Ah, race day.  I just love the smells on race day, there is nothing better than fresh rubber and race fuel.

It proved to be a rather busy day,  I decided to ride in as many classes as I could just to see how I’d feel.  Right now my neck issues are the limiting factor.   I’ve been able to work on the fitness, I’m not quite back to where I was prior to the wreck in July 2014.  I still have work to do to get back to that point.   I was happy with my riding until I looked at lap times… I finished up the weekend about 4 seconds off where I should be.

Out of all the races I did that day, I think I rode in 5 races, the highlights for the weekend were getting good starts.  For whatever reason, I have great starts or really bad ones.  This day I had all good ones, I was surprised.  So were all of the guys who ended up behind me.  I managed to hold off people in each one of the races, I actually love that I’m super hard to pass even if they are faster, and lets be clear.  It’s not that I’m riding bad, I’m smooth, and I can exit a corner REALLY well.  Thank you Dennis for teaching me how to run defensive lines so like you I could be 10 feet wide on the track.  🙂

The best part for me was that my neck wasn’t hurting too much at the end of the day.  It would hurt some while I was on the track, it gets more painful with each lap, so I get slower the more it hurts.  However, it wasn’t nearly as bad as it was in March when I went to Inde.  It’s also not taking days to stop hurting.  All good things.  With any luck by the end of the summer, it will be just about back to normal.
